Bring the pool, front yard, backyard and outdoor living spaces into one plan, one budget and one team. Since 1976, Richard Lusk has completed more than 3,000 projects, and complete properties are what we do best.
Custom pools & spas
We design and build custom pools and spas that fit the architecture, the landscape and the way you live outdoors. Richard Lusk has been building pools since 1976, and we hold California's C-53 Swimming Pool license (#950714).
Pool reshaping & remodeling
Make your pool deeper, shallower, longer or smaller. Change its shape, add a spa, or bring the pool and the surrounding yard together in one complete remodel. We assess the existing structure and your property before recommending a solution.
Landscape design
We design and build complete landscapes that connect your home with its outdoor spaces. We are a C-27 licensed design-build firm (#950714) with 50 years of luxury pool and landscape experience.
Hardscape & outdoor living
We build outdoor kitchens, fireplaces, fire pits, patio covers and the paving, stone and masonry that connect them to your pool and home.
Planting & irrigation
Planting gives a landscape its living character: the shade, privacy, texture and seasonal interest that make an outdoor space feel like home. We plan planting and irrigation together so the landscape is suited to your property and has room to mature.
Landscape lighting

Complimentary site visit
We meet you at the property, learn your goals and evaluate the site: slopes, access, drainage, utilities and HOA, city or county requirements.
Complimentary scope & budget
From that visit, we prepare a detailed scope of work and budget at no charge. A real budget up front reduces unforeseen change orders later.
Design and build
Once you approve the budget and sign the design-build Home Improvement Contract, we design to it, refine the plan with you and build it. About 8 weeks after permit issuance is a planning guide for a typical pool; site conditions, scope, weather and inspections affect the schedule. Design and approvals come first.
